Teaching at Vignan's Institute of Information Technology  is structured around seven disciplines. A student is registered in one of the department, depending on the degree/programme he/she student is interested in pursuing.

Research centers are also part of the departments, encouraging interdepartmental collaboration and opportunity for students to participate in exciting research projects. The college offers 5 Undergraduate and 4 Postgraduate programmes.
